Work that bridges seemingly distinct disciplines, blurs the boundaries of conventional expression.

Originality: self-originated work, no plagiarism is allowed

Innovation: displays an individualistic style; avoids overused ideas or concepts
CONCEPT MERIT
Work that expresses STEM concepts or utilizes STEM tools in an interesting and understandable way.

STEM concept(s) is apparent in the visual aspect of the work or have a short and concise statement to help explain/display the STEM concept(s) behind the work

Understandable concept: the combination of STEM subject and visual subject selection is effective; the selection and use of media(s)/material(s) appropriate to the artist intentions
TECHNICAL SKILL
Work that utilizes sophisticated technical skills to create something powerful and innovative.

Adequate application of skills in chosen media(s)

Visual Impact (i.e. forceful, subtle, vivid, etc.)

Organization: the work composition effectively demonstrates intentional design ( apparent focal point, organization of compositional elements, appropriate use of space, etc.)
